Le Liégeois effectuera son entrée en lice jeudi à moins de 300 kilomètres de Bruxelles face à Pablo Carreno Busta. Les deux derniers tournois de David Goffin en Europe avaient été de très haut niveau. En juin, il avait joué la finale contre Federer à Halle. En juillet, il avait disputé un quart de finale à Wimbledon face à Djokovic. Cette semaine, il ne croisera ni le Suisse ni le Serbe. Après la tournée américaine, le n°1 belge retrouve le Vieux Continent à l’occasion de l’ATP 250 de Metz. Jeudi, en soirée, il entamera sa semaine lorraine.
