Menés, les Saint-Gillois ont eu les occasions pour s’imposer, mais Niakaté est resté muet L’entraîneur saint-gillois avait procédé à trois changements par rapport à la rencontre précédente, offrant à Hamzaoui et à Ferber leur première titularisation de la saison. L’Union entamait mieux son match que ces dernières semaines, mais Niakaté puis Ferber se heurtaient au portier adverse au cours de la même phase. Lommel ne paniquait pas et sur un corner habilement donné, le ballon parvenait à Vermijl qui ne laissait aucune chance à Saussez.
