Avec une solide campagne de classiques ardennaises, marquée par sa dixième place à l’Amstel Gold Race mais surtout par son podium à la Flèche wallonne (il a fini troisième au sommet du Mur de Huy) et par son Liège-Bastogne-Liège, où il a joué la victoire et le podium jusqu’à la flamme rouge.
